Why are your translators English natives?
CTS follows the Mother Tongue Principle, also known as the Native Speaker Principle, which states that a translator should only translate into their primary language. For example, a native speaker of English should only translate from Chinese to English, and a native speaker of Chinese should only translate from English to Chinese.
This is because native speakers know how to write in their language better than non-natives. They possess a more extensive vocabulary and instinctively know all the rules of grammar, which allows them to produce translations that are both accurate and a pleasure to read.
Why pay for translations when my employees are bilingual?
While your bilingual employees can help save money by translating documents in the office, they may not have the skills or expertise to produce a professional translation. Translation is a career, and like any other career, it requires practice, training, and experience. It is simply not true that every bilingual person is a good translator.
