ARE YOUR TRANSLATIONS ACCEPTED BY THE IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT?

Yes, we are proud members of several translation associations in the world, including the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), and are therefore qualified to provide certified translations.

The guidelines set by the immigration department in Hong Kong state:

“Where a document is not in Chinese or English, it must be accompanied by a Chinese or English translation certified as a true translation by a sworn translator, court translator, authorised public translator, certified translator, expert translator or official translator.”

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFIED TRANSLATIONS IN HK?

In Hong Kong, most government agencies, foreign consulates, universities, banks, etc. will accept a Certificate of Translation Accuracy that is signed and stamped by a company representative. In some cases, a sworn declaration / oath / affirmation may be required. This involves a translator or company representative appearing personally at the Home Affairs Enquiry Centre to declare under oath that the translation is true and accurate.

It’s important to note that requirements may vary depending on the specific document and the institution it is being submitted, so it’s always best to confirm with the relevant authorities in Hong Kong before placing an order.
